Spiritual tour to Sedona & Northern Peru
with Dehyana
Early September 2013
For years Dehyana has been bringing groups on sacred pilgrimages through the Andes in Peru and Bolivia. We’ve seen incredible sites: from the gateway of the Children of the Sun in Tihuanaco, Bolivia, painted sky sunset on Amantani Island on Titicaca Lake, the view of Macchu Picchu from the sacred peak of Wayna Picchu, to mystical ancient formations in Marcahuasi. We’ve had incredible experiences, challenging ourselves physically mentally and spiritually, we’ve danced, laughed and even cried!
Our 2013 tour is completely new; our journey beginsin the USA, in the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona. Through this portion of the tour, we will visit many of the famed vortexes, sacred red-rock sites, ancient medicine wheels and petroglyphs and enjoy the breathtaking scenery hiking. Alternate days will be spent in workshop with Dehyana, learning about the wisdom of our Native Ancestors. This portion of the tour will prepare us for what’s in store in Northern Peru.
After spending 5 incredible days in Arizona, we’ll fly to Cusco, Peru and begin our initiation with a private visit to the temple of the sun (in 2012, ours was the first group to ever be granted private access to this temple). From here, we will continue to the gorgeous surrounding sites, including Sacsayhuaman. We will visit Aguas Calientes and the infamous Machu Picchu before flying north to Trujillo to continue our tour.
Only recently, Archaeologists have been making profound discoveries in Northern Peru. Few tourists journey make the journey to see them. We will visit many ancient temple sites built by advanced civilizations on the shores of the Pacific, and have the opportunity in meditation to take in the energy. These sites are breathtaking, and in many cases are still being excavated.
The tour will also include an incredible journey to Chavin, a pre-Incan archaeological site located at an elevation of 3,180m, dating to at least 3000 BCE. Highly evolved, the Chavín culture represents the first widespread, recognizable artistic style in the Andes. Chavin art decorates the walls of the temple and includes carvings, sculptures and pottery depicting exotic creatures such as jaguars and condors. This is truly a sacred area, and very few tourists take advantage of this beautiful site, which leaves us plenty of space for meditation!
As with all of our tours, we will enjoy daily devotion with Dehyana, including A Course in Miracles study, meditation and group sharing. Dehyana will share with us the esoteric teachings of the sites we are visiting, while Raul, our local guide, will educate us with classical tours. Raul is an accomplished flautist, and music is a constant companion throughout our tours. The schedule will be posted in the new year. Please continue to check our activities calendar for the tour dates. Subscribe to our mailing list to receive the itinerary as soon as it's complete.
Although the dates are not yet confirmed, the tour is tentatively scheduled for September 1 and will be 2-3 weeks in length and is now open for registration.
