You are not just flesh and bone—you are a living, breathing temple of the Divine. In this reflection on the Abu Simbel inner temple of light, we remember that your body is sacred architecture:

Earth in your bones grounding you;
Water in your emotions flowing with intuition;
Air in your thoughts breathing life into ideas;
Fire in your spirit illuminating the path of courage and truth.

These four elements dance as one within you, animating the four sacred bodies of your being:
your physical body—strong and steady;
your emotional body—tender and receptive;
your mental body—sharp and discerning;
and your spiritual body—radiant and eternal.

Together they form the inner temple—a sanctuary for the Divine as you journey from darkness into light, from forgetfulness into remembrance.

And what is this light? It is Ra—the living Sun—not merely in the sky but in your soul. Ra is awakened consciousness, the inner flame that never dies. Every breath, every step, every sacred choice draws you closer to that Light within.

As we begin this inner journey, we enter not only the outer temple of Abu Simbel… but the Holy of Holies within our own hearts. Four deities await—Ra-Horakhty, Amun-Ra, Ptah, and the deified Ramses—not as distant gods, but as archetypes etched into the stone of your soul. We begin at the root—anchoring the Light in loyalty to the Divine. From there, we rise.

The Abu Simbel Inner Temple of Light

Standing before Abu Simbel is like standing before a living transmission. The four colossal seated statues of Ramses II are not merely ancient monuments—they are mirrors, inviting you to recognise your own sacred architecture. Each presence reflects a facet of your inner temple of light: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual—four bodies turning together toward the radiance of Ra.

When you feel this alignment, something inside remembers: you too are shaped by the same eternal intelligence that carved these temples from stone and stars from darkness. Every breath you take, every prayer you whisper, every conscious step you walk is an offering—a hymn of praise to the Divine within.

Sacred Union: Hathor, Nefertari & the Balance Within

To the right of Abu Simbel stands the Temple of Hathor, raised by Ramses in honour of his beloved Nefertari. Here the masculine bows to the feminine—not as lesser, but as equal and holy. Like Osiris and Isis, Ptah and Sekhmet, the ancient pairings remind us: creation is born when polarities unite. This, too, is part of the Abu Simbel inner temple of light—the reconciliation of the inner King and Queen, the will to act held in loving balance with the wisdom to receive.

Ptah: The Power in the Unseen

In the inner sanctuary of Abu Simbel sit Ra-Horakhty, Amun-Ra, the deified Ramses—and in the shadowed silence, Ptah. Morning light falls on three, but Ptah remains untouched. Not hidden—foundational. Ptah is the silence before the sound, the womb before the spark, the breath before the Word. He teaches that creation begins in stillness, and our true strength comes from alignment with Source. When we fall quiet enough to listen, the inner temple of light ignites from within.
