Atonement and Miracles: A Return to Grace
By Dehyana
In the days following Easter, when the themes of resurrection, renewal, and divine love continues to fill our hearts, I felt deeply called to revisit a foundational teaching from A Course in Miracles: Atonement and Miracles (Chapter 1:3). This sacred message, illuminated through the story of Jesus’ resurrection and ascension, speaks not of punishment or sacrifice, but of a return to grace and a reminder that we are never truly separate from love, no matter how lost we may feel.
In this blog post, I offer a simplified reflection on that powerful section, written to make its essence more accessible and applicable in your daily life. As you journey forward from Easter’s message of hope, may you remember that Atonement isn’t about guilt or regret, it is the gentle undoing of fear based ego beliefs and the quiet remembrance of our oneness with the Divine.

The True Meaning of Atonement
There is a deep, quiet truth that most of us often forget: we were never meant to carry the weight of the world alone. And although it might be difficult to remember at times, there is a divine process at work in each of our lives which Jesus calls the Atonement. In fact, your true vocation is Atonement. It’s what you came here to do!
Again, it’s not about guilt or punishment, but rather a gentle undoing of error, the mistaken belief in separation and a return to the truth of your being. You are made in the image and likeness of God—full stop.
Jesus has taken on the responsibility of guiding the Atonement and the sacred process of returning to wholeness. He says when you offer a miracle, a loving thought, a silent blessing or an act of forgiveness, you’re not just giving to another, you are giving to yourself and you’re giving it to him.
Jesus also states that he doesn’t need miracles for himself, but he does stand with us in case we forget our way. His role is to correct what you alone cannot. He reminds us that as you remember who you are, you become part of this healing force as an expression of love.

The Power of Miracles
“The power to work miracles belongs to you.” – A Course in Miracles
Your readiness and willingness are key to receiving the opportunities for healing that He will bring
Miracles aren’t grand performances. They’re quiet, holy shifts in perception, so every time you choose love over fear, forgiveness over judgment, truth over illusion, you become part of the Atonement, too. You start to see the errors in yourself and others not as sins, but as misunderstandings and become unwilling to leave them unhealed.

Contemplations for Your Heart
Where in my life am I withholding miracles—loving thoughts, forgiveness, compassion, empathy? What would shift if I acted on the truth that I already have the power to heal?
Remember—You Are Wholly Lovable
“Heaven and earth shall pass away” doesn’t mean destruction, it means separation will end. His word is eternal. And so are you. Say this to yourself – I am God’s creation, wholly lovable and wholly loving. There’s no striving to become what you already are, and I say Alleluia, praise God!
“This is how a man must think of himself in his heart, because this is what he is.”
Forgiveness is the Gift that Multiplies
When you’ve received true forgiveness, you can’t help but pass it on. Miracles, then, become the way you join your mind with the Holy Spirit and with Christ, helping all souls return home.
Pause and ask yourself: Have I truly let forgiveness settle in my bones? Who might need my forgiveness today—not just for them, but for my own peace?

Miracles Are Guided, Not Forced
Jesus alone can offer miracles without limit. But he will tell you what’s yours to give. You don’t have to go hunting. Just ask: Where would You have me offer love today? Miracles are impersonal in delivery but deeply personal in revelation. They will touch you, even if you don’t see how they’ve touched another.
Truth is Never Threatened
Only error is vulnerable, and the error is the belief that you are an ego, separate from God. Your spirit lives forever in a state of grace. When you resist divine reassurance, it’s often because you’re clinging to some identity rooted in fear. And when you project that onto others, you lock everyone into roles that aren’t real.
The miracle worker doesn’t fix—they bless. And in doing so, they set others free.
Perception Creates Behaviour
“You respond to what you perceive,” it says. And if your perception is off, your behaviour will be too.
Here’s the Golden Rule—”Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” And this is only possible when you see both yourself and others accurately. Through holiness.
Ask yourself: Do I look through the lens of my own holiness, and theirs?
The Miracle-Ready Mind
A mind aligned with Spirit blesses even when unaware. This is why readiness matters. The impersonal nature of miracles means they go far beyond what you can see. They ripple outward, uniting Creator and creation.
“When you bring in the stranger, he becomes your brother.”
Trust the Placement
You won’t always see the effects. That’s not your job. The miracle always blesses you, and its full reach is orchestrated by the One who sees the whole picture. Even the miracles you didn’t give still reflect the state of grace you’re cultivating within.
One Chain of Light
Miracles are directed to those who can use them, and from there, the chain continues. Size doesn’t matter because the miracle isn’t bound by illusion. It’s designed to return you to truth.
And truth? Truth is always enough.

Gentle Questions to Guide Your Path Today
- Where am I still loyal to fear?
- What would it feel like to surrender that, even for a moment?
- Who is the stranger I’ve yet to welcome into my heart?
- What if every loving thought I offered today became a link in a great chain of healing?
Embracing Your Divine Nature
Remember you are in a state of grace forever. You were created in love for love. You are sustained by love. And you are here to extend it.
This is the heart of Atonement. This is the miracle. This is you.
The Gift of Atonement
Atonement is not a burden to carry—it is a gift to receive. It is the quiet recognition that nothing real can be threatened, and nothing unreal exists. As Jesus demonstrated through his resurrection and ascension, the journey back to love is always possible. Each miracle we experience, no matter how small, is a step toward that holy remembrance.
May this message awaken within you a renewed trust in the power of grace. May you feel the presence of love walking beside you, gently guiding you home. And may you come to know, in the deepest part of your being, that you have never left the heart of God.
Prayer: A Return to Grace
Beloved Source of Love,
Help me remember who I truly am.
Where I have judged, let me forgive.
Where I have feared, let me choose love.
Where I have wandered, gently lead me home.
I accept the Atonement for myself today—
not as punishment, but as a gift,
a soft return to the truth that I am held,
healed, and whole in You.
May I be a vessel for miracles,
a light in the lives of others,
and a witness to the grace that is always present.
Amen.
