The Home Depot Guide to Enlightenment

Who Knew God Shopped Here?

Well, I’ve been up to something.

For those of you who’ve known me over the years, you’ll know that I’ve spent much of my life exploring the mysteries of existence. From the sacred temples of Egypt to astrology, BreathWork, A Course in Miracles, and just about everything in between.

And now, after all these years, I’ve discovered something rather unexpected.

Home Depot. Yes, Home Depot.

I know. I’ve spent decades travelling to sacred places, studying ancient teachings, sitting with spiritual masters, and apparently I could have saved myself a fortune by visiting the hardware department.

LOL!

It all started a while back when I was feeling homesick for Canada. I found myself browsing the Home Depot website, looking at all the things I missed about autumn. Pumpkins, Halloween decorations, and those wonderful twelve-foot skeletons. And somewhere between the garden centre and the Halloween department, I started laughing. Because suddenly I was seeing spiritual teachings everywhere.

A ceiling fan reminded me of the mind that never stops spinning. A pressure cooker had me thinking about what happens when we keep everything bottled up. And don’t even get me started on the twelve-foot skeleton. Before I knew it, I had an entire department store full of spiritual teachers.

Now, I’ve always believed that God is present in the ordinary moments of our lives. We don’t have to travel halfway around the world, climb a mountain, or spend forty years trying to become enlightened to discover that. Although I’ve certainly given it a good try.

And that’s how The Home Depot Guide to Enlightenment was born.

A collection of stories about life, the mind, our peculiar human habits, and the things we take far too seriously.

There’ll be plenty of humour, a little irreverence, and some of the wisdom I’ve gathered along the way.

I’ll still be writing about astrology, mysticism, Egypt and the teachings I’ve loved for decades. But every now and then, we’re going shopping. Because after seventy years on this planet, I’ve come to appreciate how wonderfully absurd being human can be.

And if we can laugh at ourselves while remembering who we really are, well, I think that’s a pretty good afternoon.

So welcome to The Home Depot Guide to Enlightenment.

Our first teacher is twelve feet tall, has no skin, no pants, and absolutely no qualifications.

I think you’re going to love him.

God help us.

With love, light and laughter

Hi, I’m Dehyana

I’ve spent over 30 years guiding people through life’s most difficult and transformative moments — grief, anxiety, addiction, and spiritual awakening. My work blends astrology, A Course in Miracles, and practical spiritual guidance to help people understand what they’re experiencing and find a deeper sense of peace within it.

If you’re moving through something and feel called for support, you can explore private sessions or upcoming Spiritual Tours.
