Summoned by Sekhmet:
Egypt’s Hidden Power Spots

The Hidden Power of Sekhmet at Karnak
In a hidden chapel behind the great temple of Karnak, a very powerful statue of Sekhmet stands, unmoved and untouched by time. For thousands of years, her black granite form has radiated an undeniable presence, her energy is as potent now as it was in the days of the ancients. When I first stood before her, I felt it. There is no mistaking her power. She stands silent, yet commanding. She’s still, yet alive. Sekhmet doesn’t just embody transformation, she is the fire that ignites it. It has been said that Sekhmet is like a solar flare from the Sun.

The Sacred Triad of Memphis
The chapel in Karnak where we find her is dedicated to the triad of Memphis – Ptah, Sekhmet and Nefertum. Ptah, a creator god and consort to Sekhmet, and Nefertum their son. In Egyptian mythology, creation is a sacred trilogy—the union of masculine and feminine forces giving rise to a third power. Ptah, known as a divine architect embodies creation; Sekhmet, the lioness goddess, is the fire of transformation. Together, they bring forth Nefertem, the lotus-born son of renewal. This cycle of creation, destruction, and rebirth is the heartbeat of the universe.
My Midnight Encounter with Sekhmet
For me, meeting Sekhmet was an out of this world experience. On one of my earlier trips to Egypt, in the dead of night I had the privilege of entering her chapel alone. As I walked past towering columns and hidden chambers within the Karnak temple complex, toward her chapel, I felt my heart racing. It was as if my body already knew something extraordinary was about to happen. With each step, a strange lightness filled me…I felt as though I was in-between worlds with anticipation pulling me forward.

The Temple Threshold
The closer I got to Sekhmet’s chapel, the more intense the energy grew. Oh my gosh, that energy was undeniable and felt like an electric current surging up my spine, making my whole body tremble. As I’ve been writing in previous blogs, ancient temples aren’t just structures; they are built on power spots, ley lines that create vortexes of energy, that activate something deep within. Looking back, my soul knew exactly where it was going and I was heading straight into the heart of it.
When I arrived, the temple keeper greeted me with a knowing smile, as if he had been expecting me. Without hesitation, he opened the way, just as eager to let me in as I was to step inside.
The moment I crossed the threshold, an almost overwhelming force hit me. The air was thick with something ancient and alive. In front of me, in the second room of three was the energy of Ptah, consort of Sekmet, to the left of that room was the energy of Nefertum, their son; the entire space is filled with power.

Face to Face with the Lioness Goddess
But nothing prepared me for what I was about to encounter as the gate keeper unlocked the main door to the chapel of Sekhmet. In this hidden chamber, the energy was unlike anything I had ever encountered. It was raw, electrifying and commanding. And I knew, in that instant, that I would never be the same again. The force of energy in that small sanctuary went right through me, from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. I heard a buzzing sound and felt an electric pulse at the base of my spine and then it surged up my spine to my third eye. Every chakra lit up like a Christmas tree, and I felt more alive than ever.
“Look to Me” – Sekhmet’s Call
Above me, in the ceiling of Sekhmet’s chapel, an opening allowed the moonlight to spill into the chamber, illuminating her face. The glow gave her a kind of eerie, yet breathtaking presence. She felt very much alive, and aware. I felt as though she was waiting to greet me.
In that instant I heard her speak.
“Look to me.”
I lifted my gaze, and the moment our eyes met, my breath caught in my chest. Her eyes were like fire. She was alive.
Her eyes burned with an intensity that was both fierce and deeply compassionate. She saw me. Every part of me. It felt as though she was looking directly into my soul. The thought that struck me first was “she’s an alien” Not in the way we often think of extraterrestrials, but in the sense that she was completely otherworldly. I felt her energy stretching beyond time, beyond this planet. I felt as though she came from Sirius—a mother goddess, walking the Earth as the solar feminine, midwifing a new age into being.
Sekhmet’s form is striking—the head of a lioness, but her body, human-like, mirroring the symbolism of Aquarius. Twelve thousand years ago, humanity stood in the Age of Leo. Now, we approach the Age of Aquarius with Sekhmet standing at the threshold, guiding us through the upheavals of transformation—both personal and global. She is the protective mother, fierce yet nurturing, leading us through the birth pains of a new world.
She spoke again.
“Lay your head on my chest.”

The Heartbeat of the Divine
Without hesitation, I stepped forward and rested my head against her. And then, I heard her heartbeat as it echoed in rhythm with my own. Even now, as I write this, I feel that my words fail to capture the depth of what I experienced. Some things are beyond language, beyond thought. This was one of them.
With my head against her, I felt only love. A love so vast, so consuming, that it dissolved everything else. And then something else happened. Every cell in my body became light. I was no longer a body. In that moment, there was no separation—between me, between her, between anything. Everything in that room, including Sekhmet herself, was light. There was no fear, no pain, no time. Only oneness. I don’t know how long I remained like that, but eventually, I felt myself returning to my physical form. My head still resting against her, and she spoke once more.
“Give me your past.”
“Give Me Your Past” – The Release
The words unlocked something deep within me. My eyes filled, and as tears slipped down my cheeks, memories surfaced—wounds from childhood, disappointments, losses, grief, moments of anger confusion and despair. Again, she whispered.
“Let go, give it all to me”
And so, I did.
I surrendered it all—the grief, the sorrow and the weight of lifetimes. And she took it. Sekhmet, the great destroyer of all that no longer serves, burned it away, creating space for something new for healing, transformation and rebirth.

The Transformative Power of Sekhmet
Over the years of leading transformational journeys to Egypt, I’ve witnessed a pattern and one that never ceases to amaze me. After the Initiate spends time with Sekhmet, something shifts. It’s undeniable. Those who have walked this path with me know exactly what I mean. You can’t make this up. Lives change. Old identities burn away. People return home, only to find that the life they once knew no longer fits.

The Invitation to Transformation
Sekhmet is the fire of transformation. In her presence something shifts. She is the feminine force of the Divine. She commands. She doesn’t tolerate smallness, hesitation, or you dimming your light to meet the comfort of others. She burns away illusion, cuts through self-deception, and clears the way for your highest self to rise, unshackled, sovereign, and unapologetically alive.
Over the years, I’ve had layers and lifetimes of illusions dissolved by her power, and yes, I’ve been stripped time and time again of what no longer serves. She is the mother who says pull up your socks, stand straight, and drop the stories. She is both the destroyer and the healer, offering the alchemy that turns suffering into wisdom, fear into power, and hesitation into bold, undeniable truth.
If she calls you, know that it is no accident. She comes when you are ready, even if you don’t feel ready. This is not a gentle invitation but a summons to step fully into who you are meant to be. Sekhmet does not walk with the faint-hearted. She walks with those who are willing to stand in the fire, to claim their power, and to become nothing less than their truest, wildest, most authentic selves
Step forward if you dare! The lioness awaits!
