Monkey Mind on Steroids: Uranus in Gemini, the Great Purge, and the Only Way Through
An Elder’s Reflection on the Current Energies
By Dehyana
Something has shifted and you can feel it in your body before you can name it — something’s afoot, a restlessness in the chest and a sense that the world is moving faster than the mind can track. You scroll the news and feel vertigo. You reach for your phone and feel hollow. You lie down at night and the thoughts won’t stop, looping in tight circles like a dog chasing its tail.
This is planetary weather. And I truly believe that understanding what is happening in the sky above us may be the most important act of self-compassion we can offer ourselves right now. Remember the axiom “As above, so below”?
Uranus in Gemini Meaning: The Celestial Storm Affecting the Mind
What Uranus in Gemini Is Doing to All of Us
Uranus — the great Awakener, the cosmic disruptor has moved into Gemini, the sign that governs the mind, communication, information, and the nervous system. When these two forces meet, the result is a revolution of thought at a speed the human mind was not designed to sustain.
Gemini energy is already quick, curious, and darting — the original monkey mind, jumping from branch to branch with a beautiful restless intelligence. Now add Uranus: the planet of sudden awakenings, electric shocks to the system, the shattering of what we thought we knew. The monkey mind is no longer just restless. It is on steroids.
“We are being downloaded. The question is whether we are strong enough to hold the signal.”
We see it everywhere. Information overload. The collapse of agreed-upon reality, narratives fracturing overnight and conversations that were once simple now crackling with charge and misunderstanding. Opinions multiplying faster than we can process them. Artificial intelligence rewriting what it means to think, to create and to know. This is Uranus in Gemini — and it will be with us well into the 2030s.
“This arrives and remains for years not to break us, but to break us open.”
The Shadow Side of Spiritual Awakening: When the Frequency Rises Too Fast
“I am a boomer — yes, one of those — and I have been on this path since the early days of the first wave, the era of peace marches and flower crowns and the dawning sense that we were here to usher in something new.” Decades of reading, listening, traveling to ashrams, sitting in circles, and paying attention have confirmed one thing for me: when the vibrational frequency of the planet rises, not everyone rises with it at the same pace. This is not judgment. It is physics. Think about it. Water boils at one hundred degrees. But not every part of the pot heats at the same rate. Some molecules boil, others need more time. And that is just how it works.
We are watching this play out in real time. The surge in mental illness. The epidemic of addiction. The rows of people sleeping on our streets, untethered from any sense of home or belonging. The suicides of people who could not bear what they were feeling. These are not separate social problems. They are symptoms of a collective energetic overwhelm. The darkness that has long been buried in the personal and collective unconscious is being forced to the surface — and without the tools to process it, without the awareness to name it, it manifests as illness, as crisis, as despair. We are also seeing it in the quiet erosion of how we treat one another — something I wrote about more deeply in Have Human Values Gone Out of Style?
“The darkness is not arriving. It is leaving. And like any purge, it has to come up and out before it can be gone. That is the poison leaving the body.”
My heart goes out to every soul who is struggling right now. Hold them gently. Do not turn away from the pain you see. And at the same time — know that what looks like breakdown is, in the larger arc, breakthrough. We have always known it would look like this before it looked like the golden age.
The Antidote to the Monkey Mind: Why Shakti and the Mother Energy Matter
You Cannot Think Your Way Out of a Gemini Storm
Here is what I know to be true, from the marrow of my bones after all these years: you cannot think your way out of a Gemini storm.
The mind — bless it — is not the solution here. The mind is the very thing being scrambled. Trying to solve a monkey-mind-on-steroids crisis with more thinking is like trying to put out a fire with gasoline. The monkey will just find more branches to leap to, more thoughts to catastrophise, more information to consume and never metabolise.
“In fact, as I write this, two actual monkeys just appeared outside my window. I couldn’t make this up if I tried.”
The antidote is the Mother.
In the great yogic and tantric traditions, Shakti is the primordial feminine energy — the creative force out of which all of existence arises. Every galaxy, every cell, every heartbeat is Shakti expressing herself. She is not a concept. She is the ground beneath your feet right now. She is the warmth in your chest when you put your hand over your heart. She is the earth that holds your weight without being asked.
Uranus in Gemini is an air storm — electric, mental, disorienting. The Mother is earth and feeling and presence. She cannot be disrupted by information overload because she lives beneath it, deeper than any thought can reach. To find her, you do not climb upward into the mind. You descend. You drop. You breathe.
“Feel your feet on the earth. Feel your heart beating in your chest. That pulse is the Mother’s rhythm — and she has never, for one single moment, stopped.”
Practical Spiritual Grounding: How to Calm the Mind in Times of Overwhelm
In practical terms, this means that the most radical spiritual practice you can have right now is not another podcast, not another book, not even another breathwork session. It is the daily, devotional act of turning inward. Sitting in stillness. Placing your bare feet on grass. Letting yourself feel what you feel without immediately reaching for an explanation. Asking your heart what it knows before you ask your mind.
If you feel called to step out of the noise and reconnect in a deeper, more grounded way, you can learn more about our upcoming Spiritual Tour to Bosnia.
The mind is a brilliant servant. In this era, it is trying to be the master — and it does not have the depth for that role. The heart does. The body does. Shakti does.
Raising Your Vibration: Why Inner Work Is Service to the World
I want to speak directly to anyone who feels guilty for focusing on their own inner work while the world is burning. Anyone who thinks that sitting in meditation or tending to their energy field is a luxury they cannot afford while there is suffering in the Middle East, while there are children homeless, while the news screams for attention.
Listen carefully: your vibration is your contribution.
Everything is consciousness. Everything is frequency. A person who has raised their own vibration — who has done the inner work, cleared the debris from their energy field, learned to live from the heart rather than the scrambled monkey mind — that person walks into a room and changes it. They speak to a stranger in crisis and offer an anchor. They make a decision in their family or their community from a place of clarity rather than fear. They hold a frequency that lifts the room, even without a word spoken.
This is not metaphor, it’s how energy works.
The golden age will not be built by those who exhausted themselves with fear watching the collapse. It will be built by those who tended their inner light through the darkness, who kept themselves clear enough to be useful when the moment came. The karma is moving fast right now — old patterns completing, old debts settling, old wounds finally rising to be seen. This is grace, not punishment. Do not waste it by collapsing into the noise.
“What is your vibration? In a world of consciousness, that is not a spiritual question. That is the most practical question there is.”
Golden Age Consciousness: It’s Not Coming — It’s a Choice
We are each a sunbeam from the same Sun. The Sun does not diminish when one ray turns inward to its source — it becomes more fully itself, and in doing so, lights more of the world. Your awakening is not separate from the collective awakening. It is the very mechanism of it.
The Golden Age Is Not Coming. It Is Here — In You.
The golden age has always been described as something that arrives — a future date, a celestial alignment, a moment when suddenly everything is different. I have come to believe that is a misunderstanding.
The golden age is a state of consciousness. It is available right now, in this moment, to anyone willing to choose it.
A great teacher once said: when I equals We, we are in the golden age. Not when governments change, not when wars end, not when all the world agrees — but when the individual self expands its circle of identity large enough to include all of life. When my joy is not separate from your suffering. When my awakening cannot be complete while you are still asleep.
That is the frequency we are being invited into. Not by bypassing the darkness — but by walking through it with our eyes open and our hearts steady, refusing to let the monkey mind convince us that fear is the truth and separation is the final word.
Yes, the vibrations are changing. Yes, many will struggle to hold them. Yes, it will look harder before it looks easier. And yes — the golden age is promised, and it begins the moment any one of us chooses to live from it.
Spiritual Awakening in This Era: Trust the Process
People are waking up. I see it everywhere — in the hunger for meaning, in the surge of interest in meditation and healing and ancient wisdom, in the quiet conversations happening in kitchens and gardens and sacred circles all over the world. The ones still asleep are not lost — they are simply not yet at the boiling point. Hold space. Do not abandon them. And do not let their sleep make you doubt what you know.
Turn inward. Feel your heart. Connect with mother earth.
The billion suns inside you are not metaphor — they are your nature.
If it is to be, it is up to me.
And that is enough. That has always been enough.
