Lately, so many people have been reaching out to me while facing monumental, life-changing storms. Broken structures, unexpected losses, financial drying up, or intense family crises. When the horizontal landscape of your life collapses, that’s usually when the ego jumps in with its vicious attack thoughts. It tells you to hide. It tells you what a loser you are: “Give up, you’ve failed, what’s the point…” I’m sure you’ve heard it all.

But the Holy Spirit is constantly undoing that illusion.

You may even find yourself asking, “Why is my life falling apart?” But what if what looks like destruction on the horizontal plane is actually part of a much deeper spiritual transformation?

If you are currently standing in the wreckage of a major transition, I am not here to give you toxic positivity or tell you how to quickly fix the external storm. Instead, I want to look at what the fire is actually doing for your soul, and how the cosmos is mapping out your path to high awakening.

The Illusion of the Horizontal Storm

In our human experience, we live on a horizontal axis. We look to the left and the right to measure our peace. We look at our bank accounts, our physical health, our relationships, and our geographic stability. The ego convinces us that if the horizontal line is fractured, we are beyond repair. When a storm hits the horizontal plane, we think we have been abandoned. We try to change our circumstances, fix the unfixable, or perform spiritual rituals to make the storm stop. But A Course in Miracles reminds us that the ego demands perfect external conditions to experience peace, while Truth requires absolutely nothing from the form of this world.

Why Is My Life Falling Apart? The Astrology of Transformation

As an astrologer, I look at the sky not for fortune-telling, but for mapping the soul’s evolution. Right now, the cosmos reflects the exact architecture of this crushing through the slow, heavy movements of the outer planets in Fire and Air signs. These transits are not little pats on the back; they are profound cosmic initiations.

Uranus arrives to shatter our rigid structures, bringing sudden reversals to liberate us from stagnation. Neptune dissolves the illusions of control we clung to, thinning the veil and forcing us to surrender. The cosmic design is clear: Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto do not destroy our lives to punish us. They destroy the ego’s attachments to life. Saturn steps in to build the raw, disciplined scaffolding required to anchor this higher consciousness, while Jupiter ignites the creative courage and heart-centered joy needed to inhabit it. We are being emptied out, yes—but only so we can be rebuilt on a grander, truer scale.

The Truth of the Vertical Reality

While the horizontal world collapses under these heavy transits, something strange happens when we look upward. Have you ever sat in the ruins of a difficult time in your life, turned on a piece of sacred music, and just burst into an intense, overwhelming rush of tears? It is not a cry of despair. It is an encounter with a love so massive and so intense that the physical heart feels too small to contain it. That is the Vertical Reality.

The vertical line is your direct, unshakeable connection to the Divine. It bypasses your bank account, your grief, and your physical location. It is the Holy Instant where Neptune has fully dissolved the world, and you remember exactly who, and Whose, you are. If you can sit in a storm and still weep at the sheer goodness of Love, the storm has completely failed to harden your soul.

What Does It Mean to Be Anointed by God?

In the ancient world, to anoint someone meant to pour pure olive oil over their head as a sign of divine empowerment. But we always forget how olive oil is made. To get the oil, the olives must be placed in a press and completely crushed.

Many of us mistake spiritual charisma, wealth, or a smooth, untroubled life for the anointing. But the real anointing is not a title or a public performance. The real anointing is the divine power of the Holy Spirit resting on an ordinary person, equipping them to endure the impossible.

The fire you and I are walking through right now is the crushing. When Pluto has finished burning away the false personas, the only thing left to flow out of you is the pure, unadulterated oil of the Spirit.

Walking Through the Fire Together

The waves may still be hitting your shore. But your vertical connection remains fully intact. So, if you are facing a monumental life shift right now—if Uranus has shocked your world, Neptune has dissolved your plans, or Pluto is pressing you into the dirt—stop trying to fix the horizontal storm. Sink into the vertical. Let the tears flow. Let your heart be expanded by a love that this world didn’t give you, and therefore, this world cannot take away.

We do not wait for the fire to go out before we shine. We become the light inside the fire.
