I’ve been studying astrology for decades, and like most astrologers, I started with the signs, the planets and the houses. But over the years I discovered astrology is far more than a fascinating system of symbols.

It’s a language written across the sky in light — to help you remember who you are.

Beneath the Zodiac at the Temple of Dendera

Every year I take a group into the Temple of Dendera in Egypt.

Walking in feels like walking into heaven. Your energy shifts before you’ve even understood why.

And every single time, without anyone saying a word, the same thing happens.

Everyone’s head tilts back and their eyes begin searching the ceiling for one thing.

Their sign.

I watch people find Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer — whatever their zodiac sign is — and light up like they’ve spotted their own name carved in stone thousands of years ago.

It’s become one of my favourite moments to witness, year after year.

But this year, standing there again, a different thought came to me.

What if what we’re really searching for isn’t our sign at all?

What if, underneath that instinct, we’re searching for the reason we came to Earth?

Why did my soul incarnate? What’s my purpose?

What If Your Birth Chart Is About Purpose, Not Personality?

I don’t think we ask each other “What’s your sign?” because one is better than another, or because we’re boxed in by our birth chart.

I think we ask it because some part of us already knows that every soul carries a divine intention.

And for a moment while standing under that ceiling, it’s like remembering the original blessing spoken over your soul before you incarnated.

Aries — You are the holy spark that says yes before fear has time to speak. You remind humanity that creation begins with courage.

Virgo — I created you to reveal My perfection hidden within ordinary life. The smallest act done in Love becomes holy. Healing is remembering what has always been whole.

Libra — I created you to restore harmony wherever separation appears. Your gift is not pleasing everyone — it’s revealing that beneath every conflict, Love is waiting.

Scorpio — I created you to transform fear into freedom. You descend into darkness not to remain there, but to discover that Love was never absent.

Sagittarius — I created you to seek Truth until nothing remains but Me. Your journey isn’t toward another place. It’s toward remembering that Truth has always lived within you.

Capricorn — I created you to build what endures. True authority is born from integrity. You are here to become a mountain others can trust.

Aquarius — I created you to imagine a world that reflects Heaven. You carry tomorrow inside your heart — not to escape humanity, but to help humanity awaken.

Pisces — I created you to remember that nothing has ever been separate from Love. Your gift is surrender — not giving up, but dissolving into the One from which all life comes.

Twelve Ways Love Expresses Itself

Notice something.

God didn’t create twelve kinds of people.

God created twelve ways Love expresses itself.

Your birth chart isn’t telling you who you are — it’s reminding you of one facet of the Creator that chose to shine through you.

The Egyptians carved these archetypes into stone thousands of years ago, and I don’t think it was to give us a fortune-telling tool.

I think it was to point us back — past the symbol, to the Creator the symbol comes from.

Astrology as a Path of Remembering

As an elder who has gained wisdom over the years, I return to a simple truth that echoes through every spiritual tradition I’ve loved:

Remember who you are.

It’s the invitation of A Course in Miracles.

It’s the invitation of the ancient mysteries.

And it’s the same invitation I hear every single time I stand with my fellow initiates beneath those stars carved in stone.

So I’ll leave you with the same question I ask myself, standing there with my head tilted back like everyone else:

What quality of Love was I created to bring into the world?
